     ITF-JC, Service Rengo, and Zenkowan have launched petition campaigns within their unions calling for a just resolution to the labor dispute at the Pacific Beach Hotel.

    Service Rengo has asked its affiliate unions which represent the workers of JTB, Kinki NipponTourist, and Nippon Travel Agency to collect signatures from individual members. It has also sent copiesof the DVD and You Tube video address to their affiliated unions. The unions have also been asked to publicize the Pacific Beach Hotel struggle in their newsletters and email communications to members.

 
Aug. 29, 2008 - Labor Board finds HTH in violation of law

On August 29, 2008, Joseph P. Norelli, the Region 20 Director of the National Labor Relations Board issued a 33-page complaint against HTH Corporation for numerous violations of labor law. The complaint lists the findings of fact by the Board agents, legal analysis, and violations of law.

A hearing has been set for November 4, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Federal Building at 300 Ala Moana Blvd before an administrative law judge of the National Labor Relations Board.

 HTH must respond to the complaints on or before September 12, 2008. "If no answer is filed, the Board may find, pursuant to a Motion for Default Judgement, that the allegations in the complaint are true."

Sept. 9, 2008 - Labor Board hearing set for November 4, 2008

On August 29, 2008, the National Labor Relations Board issued a 33-page complaint against HTH Corporation for numerous violations of labor law.

A hearing has been set for November 4, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. in the Federal Building at 300 Ala Moana Blvd before an administrative law judge of the National Labor Relations Board.  HTH must respond to the complaints on or before September 12, 2008. "If no answer is filed, the Board may find, pursuant to a Motion for Default Judgement, that the allegations in the complaint are true."

Read the full text of the NLRB complaint here. Some of the violations listed by the NLRB complaint include: 

  1. Interfering with, restraining, and coercing employees in the exercise of the rights guaranteed in Section 7 of the Act in violation of Section 8(a)(1) of the Act.
  2. Discriminating against employees and discouraging membership in a labor organization in violation of Section 8(a)(3) of the Act.
  3. Refusing to bargain collectively and in good faith with the ILWU in violation of Section 8(a)(1) and 8(a)(5) of the Act.
