The Longshoremen’s Bond of Solidarity

To exercise the freedom my union gives me and voice my opinion. To work always watching out for each brother and sister’s safety on the job. To stand on union principle and stand as One when the issue needs a decision to be made. To protect the docks from foreign ships. To resist any and all forms of union corruption. To promote freedom of belief, thought and speech among fellow Longshoremen and union brothers and sisters. To protect the collective bargaining process and exercise Robert’s Rules in meetings. To Stand in Solidarity against all those who try to divide our great Union and our docks. This Bond of Solidarity is what a Longshoreman is made of. Without us there is nothing possible. It is only with our disunion that wrong is done to us. When we are hasty and distrustful and play off against each other is when no Progress is made. And the creed of Solidarity is only this:

 That We Stand Together.
